08/04/2005: "Recharging Batteries"

Hi! Checking in from the beach. I don't think I realized just how much our entire family needed this until I was walking on the beach yesterday looking for shells and I realized I wasn't stressing about anything. Nothing. Nada. I was just enjoying the sand beneath my feet and the sun at my back and having no obligations except to put one foot in front of the other and enjoy myself. I don't look for the most perfect shells, but the most interesting. I think they're the most fascintaing things and I love the different hues and colors and shapes--they're incredible. I'm not much for laying on a beach towel but we've had a great time playing beach badminton, shell seeking and splashing about in the water. Our first day here we all had to get henna tattoos. shocked Ya know--the family that tattoos together, stays together. big grin And last night we went to the dog tracks which made me and The Girl very homesick for your greyts at home. angry, grr I started the morning with a totally self-indulgent massage at the spa and this afternoon or tomorrow we're all going to try parasailing. I'll definitely check back in if I'm still in one piece after that. hehe

It's hot here...but I'd rather be hot at the beach instead of hot somewhere else. cool eh?

We are having a great time. I'm really jazzed about parasailing this afternoon--as long as this storm doesn't blow in. shocked

"Some men admit they avoid confrontation (about breaking up) because they’re afraid we’ll cry. Of course we’ll cry; we cry at Hallmark commercials. What they don’t understand is that we’re not crying because of them, we’re crying because now we have to get naked in front of someone else.”
